Welcome to the Boulder City (NV) Branch of AAUW!

Welcome to the Boulder City (NV) Branch of AAUW!

Our branch general meeting on Wednesday, January 14 will feature Ade VandenBurg, a PhD student in the Healthcare Administration and Pharmacy program at Nevada State University in conjunction with Roseman University School of Pharmacy.

She will speak about the reality of aging in America, the role of home care, strategies for aging in place, and how families can access the care and support they need.

Prior to beginning her doctoral studies, VandenBurg worked in the pharmacy and IT project management fields for 20 years. She owned a healthcare IT consulting firm for 11 years advising CEOs and other hospital executives on EMR design, build and optimization; Change management; and Business Continuity Access management.

All of that stopped when she became the primary caregiver for her elderly father. Her experience caring for her father spurred her passion for improving quality of care for the elderly community.

VandenBerg is currently the owner and administrator of Prime At Home Care, a company focused on providing compassionate care for older adults in the comfort of their homes. She hopes to eventually have an impact on healthcare policies affecting the elderly population in Nevada, and/or join an academic institution to teach.

AAUW meetings are open to the public. The 6 p.m. meeting will be held in the museum conference room at the Boulder Dam Hotel.
Our branch holds meetings on the second Wednesday every month from September to May, and we focus on programs that pertain to education, equity, Nevada and Boulder City. All of our meetings are open to the public; we hope to see you there!  We also have other fun activities during the year, be sure to check them out!
