Welcome to the Boulder City (NV) Branch of AAUW!

Avi Kwa Ame, Nevada’s newest national monument, will be the topic for the Wednesday, Feb. 11 meeting of our branch.  The 6 p.m. meeting will be at the Lend A Hand offices, 801 Adams Blvd., Cottage 3. The meeting is open to the public.

Kim Garrison Means, executive director of  Friends of Avi Kwa Ame, will introduce the 506,000-acre national monument, a Native American cultural area and ecological treasure just south of Boulder City. She is also the director of the Mystery Ranch Research Station, a nature preserve, research station, and arts residency located within the national monument.

At the beginning of the meeting Andrea Dempsey, Lend A Hand operations manager, will talk about the services and current needs of the Lend A Hand organization.

Our branch holds meetings on the second Wednesday every month from September to May, and we focus on programs that pertain to education, equity, Nevada and Boulder City. All of our meetings are open to the public; we hope to see you there!  We also have other fun activities during the year, be sure to check them out!
